Beaches of Pender Island, B.C. {Mortimer Spit, Bridges Beach, Port Browning}

Pender Island has ALOT of beaches and I have never been disappointed by any of them. They all have different qualities to them and as a mom it has been so fun taking my boys to different beaches so they can explore the differences between them all.

Here is a first of a few posts about Pender Island beaches. Here I will show you some images from Mortimer Spit, Bridges beach, and Port Browning. I hope you enjoy them!

1st up is Mortimer Spit.

Located just over the bridge on South Pender Island this great little beach offers warm water in Summer, perfect for a dip or launching a kayak or paddle board. My little guys loves looking for dead jellyfish. There isn't much shade here so bring your own if you like. Lots of parking and a great place to spend some time.

2nd is Port Browning

Located adjacent to Port Browning pub and marina on North Pender Island, is a nice long pebbly beach. At the end it becomes quite rocky and fantastic for critter exploring. You also get a great view of boats bobbing in the ocean. Bring shoes (especially for little ones) as I have found at times there can be broken glass on the beach. I recommend picking up some take out from Port Browning and eating on the beach! So fun!

3rd is Bridges beach

I LOVE this beach! It has sand, pebbles, and tide pools! It has large logs, and at times crashing waves AND it has the most AMAZING sunsets! It really has it all!
